Gregory Kienzl

  • Director of Data & Impact Measurement

Gregory joined the Office of Engagement and Community Affairs in 2022. In his role as Director, he maintains university-wide systems for measuring and monitoring community-engaged activities. When appropriate, he conducts impact analyses of these activities and is responsible for presenting findings in easy-to-understand ways (e.g., online dashboards, data visualizations, etc.). As Director, he must collaborate with other units, such as Office of the Provost, Institutional Research, and Government Relations, and be responsive to requests they may have about ECA’s partnerships.

He has over two decades of experience leading research projects that have examined various facets of higher education. His areas of expertise are college access programs, student financial aid, and economic mobility and success.

Gregory earned a doctorate degree in Economics and Education from Columbia University and a master’s degree in Public Policy from Carnegie Mellon University. Both of his parents are University of Pittsburgh alumni.
