- Executive Director, Engaged Campus
Jamilah Ducar began her career at Pitt in 2017 as the Assistant Director of Community Relations. Now the Executive Director of the Engaged Campus, she enables the University of Pittsburgh to be an engaged campus and anchor institution by ensuring Pitt is a visible and responsive collaborator within its local communities. To accomplish this, Ducar leads the University’s community affairs functions and supports infrastructure that enables world-class community engagement practice. Jamilah serves the institution as co-chair of both the Community Engaged Scholarship Forum and the staff Engagement Community of Practice in partnership with the Office of the Provost. She serves the field nationally as chair of the Place Based Justice Network, '21-22 alumni of the Engaged Scholars Initiative, and through active participation as a member in Campus Compact, CUMU, and ITGA. Jamilah received a Doctor of Education degree as part of the inaugural Urban Education cohort at the University of Pittsburgh, a Master of Public Management from Heinz College at Carnegie Mellon University, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Organizational Leadership from Duquesne University.
