Samantha Varela

Samantha Varela joined the Office of Engagement and Community Affairs in March of 2024 and serves as the Program Manager for the Gismondi Neighborhood Education Program. In this role, Samantha helps to bring a collection of educational resources and programs to elementary students in their communities. These programs take place in the Community Engagement Centers and beyond in the areas Pitt has made long term commitments to serving. 

Samantha is a proud graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, receiving her bachelor's degree in political science in 2018. Samantha is passionate about connecting folks to the resources in their communities through community engagement and educational programming. Throughout her career, Samantha has served local youth in a variety of roles, most recently, as a children's librarian.
